• Expedition

• Mountaineering

  Either single or multiple day trips involving the use of technical climbing equipment and specialist footwear. Ice, winter and high altitude climbing requires high levels of insulation, durability, moisture management and control.

• Trekking

  Intense and challenging walking both on and off trail including high level ridges, mountain summits and jungle terrain usually in wilderness areas, usually for extended periods or intense day challenges. Involves carrying a pack load which will allow self-reliance and requiring highly durable, performance footwear.

• Hiking

  Well defined paths but within challenging terrain. Usually a day route format which can involve moderate summits or extended distance. Sometimes multiple day journeys from base to base with light to moderate pack loads and using lightweight boots or specialist shoes.

• Trail

  Fast or easy walking on well-used paths within moderate terrain for part or full day activity. Lighter weight, mid-cut boots or shoes are the norm. Small day or travel pack for hydration and shell clothing.

• Run & Sport

  When the pace is fast and equipment is minimalistic. Adventure racing or running along wilderness trails through to extended road running or serious competitor. Extremely high levels of performance over short periods of time determine the best product characteristics that will be required.
