Update from The Coldest Journey Team
The Ice Team
The team reached Princess Elisabeth Station on Saturday (currently the first and only zero emission research facility in Antarctica). You can read more about the station on their website – www.antarcticstation.org
Since leaving the station, the team have been making their way to a fuel depot high up on the Antarctic continent. The area is full of crevasses and so progress has been fairly slow and the Ice Train has had to be split in order to manage the loads effectively and safely. Once all of the “train” has reached the 2080m altitude point, the team are hoping to be able to move the loads together again for the next 27km.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for your continuing support and highly valued contribution to our project. More updates will follow next week.
