Exceeding Expectations

The title is a bit of an understatement, really.

It’s been 8 years since I purchased a pair of your socks. Why? Because the pair that I purchased refuse to die. I technically bought two pairs but I think the dryer ate the other pair. Anyways.

Yes, the heels are becoming a little bit thin (only recently, however). Yes, they look kind of funny. But when it comes to their function of being a kickass sock, they’re still perfect.

In the 8 years since I purchased them I’ve taken them to literally every country I’ve ever been to. Ever. Even the hot tropical ones. And especially the cold, wet ones.

In the 8 years since I purchased them they’ve been biking, climbing, backpacking, and even roasted over a fire once or twice. Or three times. They’ve outlived their Patagonia and Smartwool brethren as well, a testament to your mastery of all things sock-related.

Most recently, I wore them for 10 days straight in Switzerland on a climbing trip where I failed to anticipate 10 straight days of rain and didn’t want my feet to freeze off. I still have two feet, so kudos to your socks.

So please, for the love of all things sock-related, stop making socks that are so damn durable. I have no idea how you monetize something that won’t wear out.
